Gay artist attacked in Delhi

January 6, 2012

A gay artist was attacked last night at an exhibition of his work in New Delhi, India. The Times of India reported that the assailant's face was covered by a handkerchief.

The artist, Balbir Krishan, claims the attacker vandalised his paintings, which explore same-sex relationships, and threatened him at the capital's Lalit Kala Akademi. He then pushed and kicked the 38 year old Krishan, a double amputee who has lost both his legs, while hurling insults at him.
